As a part of our annual Corporate Social Responsibility program, Office Furniture Center & Wurkwel Ventures select one non-profit or charitable organization in our community and outfits them with an upgraded office furniture. We believe in creating a better workplace for today’s workers, regardless of budget, through environmental consciousness and sustainable practices. This giveaway is our way of helping those that could use a little help in creating an attractive and functional workspace for their employees.

2024 Winner: Save-A-Pet

Save-A-Pet in Grayslake, IL provides a safe haven for abused, neglected, injured, lost, or animals that have escaped euthanasia. They do not put a limit on the amount of care they provide for an animal and they never give up on them!

Office Furniture Center donated 9 desks that furnished 6 different offices, as well as additional filing cabinets, wall mounted overhead units, task lights, and a media table to restore new life into the offices of the hard working employees at Save-A-Pet

2023 Winner: Little Friends

Little Friends goal is the empowering people of all ages experiencing autism, intellectual and emotional disabilities, and their families to live, learn, work, and thrive in their communities.

Office Furniture Center donated 10 private offices, 10 task chairs & 20 guest chairs to Little Friends for their new Adult Program Area which had just finished construction.

2022 Winner: Concordia Place

Inspired by faith, Concordia Place envisions bigger and better tomorrows where rich diversity strengthens learning and growth for all. Concordia Place disrupts social inequities through access to top-quality education, enrichment, and hands-on experiences that includes all children, teens, and families—together.

Office Furniture Center outfitted Concordia Place's 3855 N Seeley Ave location with new private offices, filing cabinets, desk chairs, a marble teachers working station and employee lounge.

2021 Winner: LaTanya and the Youth of Englewood

LaTanya and the Youth of Englewood is an organization that works with youth ages 5-13 to provide after school activities including education, recreation communication skill building, social opportunities, advocacy and support. Most importantly this program provides strong relationships with capable, caring, and positive adults, a key component of helping children succeed in a dangerous and violent environment like the Englewood neighborhood in Chicago

Office Furniture Center was proud to provide this wonderful organization with partition walls to create spaces for kids to play and collaborate & desks and chairs for the office space.









2020 Winner: Renewed, Inc.


Renewed, Inc. is a nonprofit organization focused around providing housing, clothing, food and job opportunities to veterans and in-need individuals. Their goal is to create diversion and recidivism of homelessness in the Chicago area. Renewed, Inc. reached out to Office Furniture Center looking for desks, task chairs, lounge chairs and a sofa to furnish their new office. We were proud to offer furniture to Renewed, Inc. as they offer services that help the are that we live and work in.

2019 Winner: Maryville Academy

Office Furniture Center’s annual Office Refresh grant gives Chicago area nonprofits an opportunity to apply for a gift-in-kind donation of furniture valued at $5,000 to support operational or program growth. Maryville Academy was the 2019 recipient and through this award, selected new chairs for their main conference room and administrative offices, plus café tables and chairs for their employee break room. Additionally, OFC’s design team selected furniture in Maryville’s blue and green branding colors to bring a fresh and cohesive new look to their office. Congratulations to Maryville Academy!

Maryville is one of the oldest Social Service agencies in the state of Illinois. What started as an orphanage with residential, educational and vocational programs for young men orphaned/displaced by the Great Chicago Fire has continued for over 135 years to today with a variety of residential and outpatient programs. Through all those years, the focus has been and remains on helping youth became the best they can be in all aspects of their lives. Programs are located in Chicago, Des Plaines and Bartlett, IL. Currently Maryville offers: a Crisis Nursery where children are kept safe while their parent/s are in crisis; a healthcare center for medically fragile children; a Mom's Recovery Home to help break the cycle of substance misuse; a behavioral health outpatient clinic providing mental health and substance use services including DUI classes and counseling; residential homes for youth with mental health concerns and other issues including intellectual disability, juvenile justice involvement, or are pregnant and parenting; an alternative school for youth in middle school through high school; and, residential transition services for unaccompanied minors.

2018 Winner: Blessings in a Backpack

Blessings in a Backpack is a non-profit organization that provides meals to children that are fed during the week on the federally funded Free and Reduced Meal Program and are at risk of going hungry on the weekends. Office Furniture Center was proud to provide workstations, office seating, desks and conference tables to this wonderful organization.
